The Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Avio Orav, is expected to soon take up a new assignment in Turkey.

This was announced by Matti Maasikas, Acting Secretary General at the European External Action Service (EEAS), who expressed his gratitude and warm wishes to Orav for his new role in Turkey.

In a post on the social media platform “X,” Maasikas wrote that Orav had done an excellent job in Kosovo, KosovaPress reports.

“Thank you Avio Orav for the great job done in Kosovo! You will be sorely missed. Congratulations on your next assignment in Turkey and am very happy to continue working together - as we have done over decades in various roles.” Maasikas wrote.

Avio Orav took up his role as Head of the EU Office in Kosovo on September 2, 2024. He was preceded in Kosovo by Thomas Szunyog.
