The Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, has stated today that addressing the crimes that occurred during the war in Kosovo are a priority of the Government and that work is being done to solve this problem through the creation of an institute that will deal with the research and documentation of the cases.

She emphasized to the media that Serbia continues not to hand over the perpetrators of crimes against innocent Albanians during the war.

She said that they also prioritize the lawsuit for genocide, where they had several meetings in relation to this issue with an expert profiled in crimes related to genocide but she cannot provide more information on this matter due to the sensitivity of the information.

Haxhiu also spoke about the protection of victims of family violence, for which she said that work will be done in this direction although she admitted that there will be many challenges, which she said she expects to overcome with inter-institutional cooperation and civil society organizations.
