Acting President of Kosovo Albulena Haxhiu attended the 9th Conference on Children’s Health, Wellbeing, Education and Rights, where she stressed the importance of protecting and supporting children throughout the entire year.

Haxhiu said that despite the progress achieved, children in Kosovo continue to face many challenges, and their rights must be implemented in practice, not remain only guaranteed on paper.

She emphasized that children need safety, understanding, and access to professional services when facing emotional, social, or health difficulties. According to her, society should not wait for children to overcome problems on their own, especially when even adults would struggle to cope with them.

Haxhiu said that Kosovo has established an important legal framework for child protection, but added that the success of the system is measured by real access to services, support for families, and institutional response when a child needs help.

She guaranteed that institutions will continue working responsibly to create an environment where every child feels heard, protected, and treated with dignity.
