Goran Stanisic is sentenced to 20 years in prison for killing 13 civilians during the war in Kosovo
The Basic Court in Prishtina-Special Department, on Tuesday announced the verdict against Stanisic.
“Basic Court in Prishtina - Special Department has announced the verdict against the accused G.S. charged with the criminal offense of War Crimes against the civilian population in co-perpetration, under Article 142 in conjunction with Article 22 of the Criminal Code of the Former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, according to Indictment PPS.no.14/2018 dated 6 February 2020 of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo. The accused G.S. was found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 20 (twenty) years, which sentence will be executed immediately after the finality of this judgment, in which sentence will be calculated the time spent in detention from July 20, 2019 until in the finality of this judgment", the court announces.
