Golf is an outdoor game in which players use special clubs to hit a small, hard ball onto a green. The aim is to play a ball into a hole in as few strokes as possible. Golf is a very popular gentleman's sport around the world, but in Kosovo it is the opposite.

Golf in our country is not as popular as other sports such as football, basketball and judo. Kosovo has a Golf Federation, which recently became the 50th member of the European Golf Association (EGA).

The Kosovo Golf Federation (KGF) became a member of the European Golf Association (EGA), after the decision that was taken at the EGA General Assembly, which was held on November 18, in London.

On this occasion, in an interview for KosovaPress, the spokesperson of the KGF, Lavdim Zylfiu, spoke, who revealed the journey of the KGF until membership in the European golf government, and talked about the plan to massify this sport in our country, and about the support from state institutions.

Initially, Zylfiu showed how 15 years and 3 months were rewarded with membership in EGA.

Furthermore, the spokesperson of KGF said that the road to membership in EGA was very difficult, while he also revealed how the three days of the Kosovo delegation went in London, at the General Assembly of EGA that was held on November 18.

Zylfiu also spoke about the support that the Kosovo Golf Federation has received from state institutions, while showing how Kosovo can benefit economically from the sport of golf.

At the end, the spokesperson of the KGF showed the plan for the massification of the sport of golf in Kosovo.

The Kosovo Golf Federation (KGF) was founded on October 17, 2018 in Prishtina, and initially had only 15 players.

On September 30, 2023, KGF organized the fourth state championship in which 63 of the 72 players that the federation currently has participated. This was the biggest Albanian championship ever organized. Only Bosnia and Spain were the two countries that voted against Kosovo's admission to EGA, whereas all other countries applauded the Kosovo delegation with the greatest respect and consideration.
