Geci’s statement on Thaci sparks reaction from party leader Albin Kurti
Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has reacted to the statement of his party’s MP, Fatos Geci, who “wished a life sentence for former President Hashim Thaçi.”
Kurti said they remain convinced of the justice of the liberation war of the people of Kosovo.
“Already this has been addressed by the head of the parliamentary group of the Vetëvendosje Movement. You know our position regarding the Specialist Court, which is an abnormal and non-transparent court. We are convinced of the justice of the liberation war of the people of Kosovo, led by the KLA, and of the innocence of the four leaders who are being held unjustly in The Hague. You were witnesses that the Speaker of the Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, interrupted his speech and warned MP Geci, both because of his language and the comment he made,” Kurti said.
MP Geci said last night in the Kosovo Assembly session that the fate of Hashim Thaçi will be the same as that of Naim Murseli, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Liridona Ademaj.
