Gashi: Preparations for the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games are a national priority

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Blerim Gashi, today met with the Secretary General of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games, Iakovos Filippousis, as well as the President of the Olympic Committee of Kosovo, Ismet Krasniqi, along with their associates.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the preparations and organization of the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games, an event of special significance for the Republic of Kosovo, expected to have a direct impact on the development of sports and on strengthening the country’s position on the international stage.

“Today I had the pleasure of meeting with the Secretary General of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games, Iakovos Filippousis, and the President of the Olympic Committee of Kosovo, Ismet Krasniqi, along with their associates,” Minister Gashi wrote on Facebook.

He emphasized that hosting the Mediterranean Games in Prishtina represents a historic opportunity for Kosovo.

“In this meeting, we discussed the preparations and organization of the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games, an event of special significance for our country, which will have a direct impact on the development of sports and on strengthening Kosovo’s position on the international stage,” Gashi said.

According to the minister, a special focus of the meeting was on strengthening international cooperation and institutional coordination.

“Particular emphasis was placed on enhancing international cooperation, institutional coordination, and fulfilling organizational standards that ensure the successful hosting of this major event for the Republic of Kosovo,” he said.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports reaffirmed its commitment to closely collaborate with all local institutions and international partners, aiming for Prishtina 2030 to be an example of professional organization and a source of pride for Kosovar sports.
