The candidate for mayor of South Mitrovica from LVV-Guxo, Faton Peci, cast his vote today at “Bedri Gjinaj” elementary school, together with his spouse. After voting, Peci made a statement to the media, emphasizing the importance of massive citizen participation in these elections.

“It is a great day for Kosovo, following a wonderful day we had yesterday. I invite all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo to exercise their right to vote. Specifically and concretely for the citizens of Mitrovica, who are only 10 or 15 minutes away, this is a great opportunity to decide for the next four years,” said Peci.

Today, the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo are exercising their constitutional right to vote. These are regular local elections, held in 38 municipalities across Kosovo.

According to CEC data, the number of citizens eligible to vote at polling stations is 2,069,098. Among them, 43,993 voters registered from outside Kosovo.

Postal voting started on September 17 and ended yesterday, October 11.

The number of political entities certified to participate in these elections is 93, including: 32 political parties, 2 coalitions, 32 civic initiatives, and 27 independent candidates.

The total number of certified candidates representing these political entities is 5,624, of whom 205 are running for mayoral elections and 5,419 for Municipal Assembly elections.

Polling stations open at 7:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM. This period is considered the election silence period.
