Prime Minister and at the same time leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, will continue his engagements to secure the election of the president, said the head of this party’s parliamentary group, Arbërie Nagavci.

She stated that Kurti will hold meetings in the coming days, as she said, in order to reach an agreement in the Assembly on the country’s head of state.

According to her, new elections are unnecessary and will not bring any new result, unlike the last elections of December 28.

“Prime Minister Kurti is continuing his engagements and I believe that in the remaining days we will reach an agreement, support and concrete proposals for the election of the president... A new round of elections is not only unnecessary, but also unfair and will not bring any new result,” she said.

The Assembly has a deadline until April 28 to elect the president; otherwise, the country will go to new elections.
