Dozens of Trepça miners have been trapped hundreds of meters underground
Dozens of miners who completed the second shift were unable to exit the mine.
KosovaPress has learned that this was due to a malfunction in the electricity supply.
The head of the Miners’ Union, Ibrahim Januzi, told KosovaPress that there is still no complete information about the situation.
“Due to a power failure, the second shift has been trapped. I don’t have much information, because I have not yet been informed by anyone. I also learned about this from the news,” he said.
Meanwhile, according to the portal “Jepi zë”, miners from the second shift are trapped on levels 10, 9, and 8.
It is recalled that a few days ago, in a similar incident caused by a power outage, five duty pump operators were trapped for about 8 to 9 hours.
