Doubling of energy capacities is aimed at the wind auction

The Ministry of Economy and the International Financial Corporation (IFC) have signed the agreement for the development of the wind auction, which is expected to double the energy capacities in Kosovo. The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli has said that this project serves to create a safer energy sector in case of challenges that may be encountered in this direction. While he assessed this year as "fantastic in terms of energy".

Rizvanolli has emphasized that with this project it is planned to include the public-private sector, for which he said that in this way it will be ensured that not the entire cost of capacity building and energy transition, is reflected in end customer tariffs in the medium term.

She also said that they expect the Assembly to approve Kosovo's first law on renewable energy sources in the next regular session.

On the other hand, the Regional Manager, IFC, Nicolas Marquier declared that this project is important for the development of the energy sector in Kosovo.
