The chairman of the Social Democratic Initiative (Nisma), Fatmir Limaj, told KosovaPress that there has been no meeting with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) to discuss a pre-election coalition for the 28 December elections.

On Wednesday, media reports suggested that Limaj had reached an agreement with PDK; however, Limaj, in a brief response to KosovaPress, stated that he has not held any meetings with PDK officials.

“No invitation for a meeting has taken place, and consequently, no meeting has occurred,” he said in a written response to KosovaPress.

The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, stated earlier that they are open to cooperating with Nisma, including Limaj and his party colleagues on the LDK candidate list for deputies.

Regarding this matter, Abdixhiku said that negotiations with Limaj are ongoing.

This was also confirmed to KosovaPress yesterday by Nisma’s Presidency member, Arbëresha Krasniqi.

In the previous elections on 9 February, Limaj was in a pre-election coalition with Ramush Haradinaj’s Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK). In the last legislature, Nisma had three deputies in the Assembly of Kosovo.
