As rarely before in their lives, most Kosovars living in the diaspora this time spent their winter holidays in their homeland with greater “pleasure.”

This was because they had the opportunity to vote in the national elections of December 28 and, in a way, to place their seal on the future of those they left behind, possibly for the next four years.

By a large percentage, they placed their trust in Vetëvendosje and Albin Kurti. For this, they feel proud. Moreover, they have no doubt that the country where they were born, but do not live, will experience positive changes. This belief is also shared by our compatriot Kadri Veliu.

Enver Murati also voted for Vetëvendosje and expects a new government formed by this party to do good work and turn electoral promises into action.

Satisfied that he voted and at least gave his personal seal to the fate of the country is Fevzi Krasniqi as well. He even claims that diaspora participation in elections is a responsibility for all Kosovars living abroad. Moreover, he says that diaspora votes improve the lives of those who remain living in Kosovo.

Leonard Prenkaj also wanted to vote on December 28, but was unable to due to the lack of Kosovo documentation. He also expects that the diaspora vote will improve the lives of residents in his homeland.

Diaspora votes had a major impact on the outcome of the December 28 elections, which were won by Vetëvendosje, which received over 50 percent of the votes.

Ajet Jonuzaj did not expect Albin Kurti and his party to receive so many votes.
