About 8 percent of people in Kosovo suffer from the chronic disease of diabetes, and the most widespread type of this disease is TYPE-2. In order to offer more appropriate medications for the treatment of diabetes, work is now being done to expand the list of essential drugs for this disease.

The director of the Endocrinology Clinic, Merita Emini-Sadiku, said that over 90% of the patients in this clinic are those with diabetes, whereas up to 900 patients a year receive hospital treatment for this disease...
