Customs seizes goods smuggled from Serbia

Customs authorities, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, have carried out an operation against the smuggling of goods from Serbia in the village of Dumnicë in Podujevë, where 575,000 pieces of tobacco filters illegally brought into Kosovo were seized.

The case occurred on December 11, 2025, while on December 15 authorities managed to stop a vehicle loaded with goods suspected of being smuggled. During an additional inspection, hidden goods were found in a garage and in another vehicle, which were confiscated by the customs unit.

“Village of Dumnicë, Podujevë / 11.12.2025 – 19:25. In connection with the case, on 15.12.2025 the vehicle loaded with goods was stopped, while hidden goods were found in a garage and another vehicle. The customs unit seized 575,000 tobacco filters,” the Kosovo Police 24-hour report states.

By decision of the competent prosecutor, two male suspects, Kosovo citizens, were released after questioning and the case has been forwarded for regular procedure.
