Kosovo Customs, through the Customs Office in Prishtina, has seized 237,000 cigarette packages during a detailed inspection of a shipment arriving from Turkey. The packages, labeled “DRINA,” were not properly declared in accordance with customs law and are suspected to have been intended for the illegal production or packaging of tobacco products.

According to Customs, the seizure of this shipment prevents a potential fiscal loss of approximately 340,000 euros, protecting state revenues and the legal market.

Immediately after the discovery, the appropriate procedural actions were taken, including the seizure of the goods and the initiation of administrative and investigative procedures, in cooperation with the competent institutions.

Kosovo Customs emphasizes its ongoing commitment to preventing illegal trade, protecting public health, and ensuring fair competition for businesses operating in compliance with the law.
