Challenging remains the protection of the rights of consumers in the country, who face food insecurity, fraud with discounts and price inflation, especially in the pandemic for basic and pharmaceutical products. Only during 2020, consumer complaints in the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) have increased by 100 percent, where half of them, 1 thousand 17 of them have not been addressed by the relevant institutions. This was said today at the roundtable organized by the Institute for Development Policy (INDEP) at the Conference for the Protection of Consumer Rights in Kosovo on "Consumer Protection during the Pandemic". On International Consumer Day, Dardan Abazi from INDEP said that unfortunately for us, the policy-making discourse and relevant institutions still leave behind consumer rights, especially in times of pandemics.me of work in the FVA and controls for food products and the implementation of anti-Covid measures has increased.
