The constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly has once again failed. This marks the 33rd failure to establish the ninth legislature.
Session chair Avni Dehari opened the session by requesting names for the commission, but no nominations were provided by PDK, LDK, or AAK. The proposed commission was then put to a vote, receiving only 51 votes in favor, one against, and no abstentions.
All previous continuations of the constitutive session have failed, as Vetëvendosje, Guxo, and Alternativa have not secured enough votes to elect the new Speaker of the Assembly.
The continuation of the constitutive session must be held every forty-eight hours until the new composition of the Assembly is confirmed.
Calls to unblock the situation continue both from within and outside of Kosovo.
