Compulsory military service is not planned for the first two years of the Kurti Government

The Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj said that they need support regarding the increase of the budget for the KSF and exemption from customs. He reported to the Committee on Security and Defense, saying that the strengthening of civilian democratic oversight in the KSF is among his priorities, which according to him is weak. In his first report to the MPs, Mehaj also answered about the possibility of compulsory military service, for which he said that such a plan is not expected to be done in the first two years of the government.

The Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj spoke about the objectives of the ministry that he has been leading since March 23 this year, where he said that they aim at military strengthening, increasing transparency, expanding bilateral cooperation, membership in organizations and participation in international operations.
