Commercial banks with the most expensive services in the region
Commercial banks in Kosovo, despite the large profit of about 80 million euros per year, are constantly raising prices for banking services. In fact, these services are more expensive than in the countries of the region and beyond. In the eleven banks operating in the country, the cost of loans is about 7 percent and for the maintenance of bank accounts from 1.5 to 5 euros.
Experts on financial issues estimate that the role of the Central Bank of Kosovo (CBK), as a regulator should not allow unnecessary increase in administrative prices. On the other hand, the CBK and the banking association are saying that banks are allowed to set the price list of products based on policies and procedures.
