The petition for the dismissal of the mayor of North Mitrovica Municipality started today, while a large number of citizens have responded to this petition since 9:00 in the morning.

Sanja Kërtinic, a member of the initiative group for signing the petition, expressed her conviction that the necessary number of signatures will be achieved today, considering the mass exit of citizens.

She emphasized that there have been major obstructions since the beginning of this process, also mentioning the lack of understanding on the part of the chairman of the Assembly of this Municipality, therefore, as she said, this process has been delayed until today.

According to her, citizens have been waiting for this day for a year, because they consider that the current mayor of the municipality is illegitimate and does not represent the vote of the majority population, nor of other communities in this municipality.

Even Bllazho Turković, one of the rare citizens who agreed to speak, said that the current mayor was not elected legitimately and does not have the support of the citizens.

He predicted the achievement of the necessary number of signatures and the completion of the procedure as early as today, due to the mass exodus of citizens.
