The Vetëvendosje Movement’s candidate for mayor of Prishtina, Hajrulla Çeku, cast his vote, calling on all citizens to turn out in large numbers and exercise their right to vote.

He was accompanied by his wife and children but initially went to the wrong polling station.

Çeku said that today they are concluding this cycle of local elections, which he described as a responsibility.

“I hope that everything goes smoothly until the end of the day, that it will be a good day for democracy and for our capital city. I also hope that the next four years will be successful and good for all citizens of the capital. I invite everyone to exercise their right to vote as massively as possible — for democracy and good governance,” he said.

He added that regardless of the result, he wishes all the best for the citizens of Prishtina.

Çeku’s opponent in the race is Përparim Rama from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).
