In today’s meeting, the Central Election Commission (CEC) made several decisions to decertify candidates who had previously been certified by the CEC and replace them with other candidates, as reported by KosovaPress. The parties that had recommended the decertification of political entities to the CEC were the Vetëvendosje Movement, Democratic League of Kosovo, Alternativa, Guxo List, Democratic Union, Kosovski Savez, and the Vakat Coalition.
Valmira Selmani from the Office for Registration, Certification, and Financial Control of Political Entities said that they have reviewed all candidate documentation and opened the possibility for reordering the lists.
In this meeting, the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radoniqi, announced that the CEC had received two invitations for participation. One is for the regional ODIHR workshop on “Maintaining Electoral Integrity in the Western Balkans – Strengthening Oversight and Increasing Trust,” which will be held in Warsaw from September 16 to 17, 2025, and the CEC’s participation in the 2025 Local Government Council Elections Visitors Program in Tallinn, Estonia, October 17–20, 2025, was also approved.
