“We continue to mourn the loss of police officer Afrim Bunjaku during the attack,” the British Embassy in Kosovo said Wednesday, on the second anniversary of the terrorist assault in Banjska, Zveçan.
The embassy, which described the attack on the Kosovo Police as terrible, said that the perpetrators – including Milan Radoičić – have still not been brought to justice.
On September 24, 2023, a group of armed Serbs, led by terrorist Milan Radoičić, attacked the Kosovo Police. Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed and others were wounded.
Nearly a year after the attack, on September 11, the Special Prosecution filed an indictment, with Radoičić among the main defendants as the leader of the group. According to the indictment, they committed the criminal offense of “committing a terrorist act” and the offense of “serious crimes against the constitutional order and security of the Republic of Kosovo.” Some are also accused of financing the group and money laundering.
Serbia has still not extradited the Banjska criminals, despite repeated requests from local authorities and several international allies.
