Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi said that a balanced approach to the parties in the dialogue is a precondition for success.
He congratulated Danish diplomat Peter Sorensen - the successor of the European Union envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak - on his new post.

"Congrats to Peter Sorensen for the appointment as the new EUSR for the dialogue process. Wish him a successful mandate as a facilitator, a balanced approach towards the parties and negotiations as key precondition for a successful process towards full normalization of relations", Bislimi wrote on X.

Sorensen was selected by the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
He will start work in early February.
The mandate of the current EU envoy for the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, will end on January 31.
In the process led by Lajcak, Kosovo and Serbia reached the Brussels Basic Agreement and the Ohrid Annex in 2023, but it has not yet been implemented.
Kosovo and Serbia have been in dialogue to normalize relations since 2011.
