The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) will not participate in Monday’s meeting called by the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Dimal Basha.

This was stated by LDK MP Hykmete Bajrami after the failure to elect the deputy speaker from the Serbian community and the closing of the constituent session.

Bajrami described the closure of the constituent session as a flagrant violation of the Constitution of Kosovo.

The LDK MP said it is now clear who is blocking the process. According to her, due to the lack of numbers to form a new government, Albin Kurti is continuing with this blockade.

Hykmete Bajrami from LDK stressed that after the arbitrary closure of the session without constituting the Assembly, her party will not participate in the meeting called for Monday by Assembly Speaker Dimal Basha, where the political situation is expected to be discussed.

Bajrami also said that Vetëvendosje is not looking for a new offer for governance.

Regarding the voting of Emilia Rexhepi by LDK, Bajrami said it was, as she put it, a slip-up and that they had voted accidentally.

The constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly began on April 15, following the extraordinary parliamentary elections held on February 9. Since then, there have been 61 attempts to fully constitute the Assembly. In the 59th attempt, Dimal Basha was elected Speaker. Today, the election of the deputy speaker from the Serbian community failed again despite several attempts with three MPs from this community. /B. Ibishi/
