The main square of Kosovo’s capital has been filled with numerous works of art in honor of the 621st anniversary of the birth of the hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu.
The organizations “Shqiptaria” and “Artist për artist” organized an exhibition featuring various paintings dedicated to Skënderbeu.
Basri Beka from the organizing council said that the events, now being held for three consecutive years, aim to commemorate Skënderbeu’s greatness.“For three consecutive years now, together we have organized this cultural activity in remembrance of the historical legacy of our chief hero, to strengthen the historical memory of our people about the greatness of Skënderbeu. As part of the celebration, several activities have been organized. Artists from all Albanian-inhabited regions are exhibiting their works under the organization ‘Artist për artist.’ At 16:00 we will begin the festive concert. We also have Arbëresh groups invited by us as organizers,” he said.
In addition to the exhibition, other activities were organized today, including a parade of Arbëresh groups and a traditional celebration.
National hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu was born on May 6, 1405.
