The Municipality of Pristina has established the “Commission for the Emergency Assessment of All Construction Sites in the Capital.”

This was announced by the Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, who warned that all construction sites where violations or serious safety issues are identified will be closed.

According to him, any municipal inspector who fails to report any irregularity in the field will be held accountable.

“ALL CONSTRUCTION SITES IN THE CAPITAL WILL BE CLOSED!

Concerned about the current situation on the ground and with the aim of increasing public safety, this morning I invited the directors of the Capital and decided to establish the ‘Commission for the Emergency Assessment of ALL construction sites in the territory of the Capital.’

This commission, composed of experts in:
• urban planning
• licensed engineers
• emergency representatives

will immediately begin inspections at all active construction sites in the Capital.

After receiving this report, I want to be very clear:

❌ All construction sites where violations or serious safety problems are identified will be closed immediately!
❌ They will undergo a detailed institutional analysis, which may result in the revocation of the construction permit!
❌ Any municipal inspector who has not reported any irregularity in the field will be held accountable.

I call on all construction entities to fully cooperate with institutions and to respect the law,” Rama wrote on Facebook.

On Sunday, on “Don Shtjefën Kurti” street, a soil collapse occurred, and as a result part of the capital was left without electricity and water. However, today teams from KOSTT and the water utility went to the scene and the problems were resolved, restoring electricity and water supply.

Meanwhile, the Basic Prosecution of Pristina has launched an investigation into the case, and the person responsible from the company Klube Invest has already been interviewed.

The Basic Prosecution of Pristina has announced that a case has now been initiated against responsible officials of the Municipality of Pristina, in order to verify whether their actions or inaction constitute elements of criminal liability for the offense of “Abuse of official position or authority,” under Article 414 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

Regarding this case, the Municipality of Pristina has suspended several inspectors from duty.
