A new office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development was inaugurated today in North Mitrovica. The office has been established in the building where the Serbian Post Office had been operating illegally before it was shut down on November 22, 2024.
Also present at the inauguration ceremony was Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who said that discrimination has come to an end and that all citizens, without distinction, will be able to receive services at this office.
“One regional office of the Ministry which, on the one hand, offers inclusiveness, meaning leaving no one behind or excluded, and on the other hand provides equal opportunities so that all farmers have access to subsidies and grants that are vital for the development of agriculture and for increasing both production and productivity. Out of the total 32,000 farmers receiving support, around 3,000 are from Serbian communities, which means proportionally far more than their percentage of the population. We want to prove through concrete and practical work, such as today’s initiative, that we discriminate against no one. The time of discrimination has come to an end, and we achieve this through development and progress. Therefore, congratulations to everyone on this regional office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development here in Mitrovica,” said Kurti.
Meanwhile, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development Armend Muja said that today marks the opening of a regional center for joint services. Also attending the opening ceremony of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development office in North Mitrovica were Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla and Minister of Local Government Administration Elbert Krasniqi.
