The Association of Journalists of Kosovo - AJK has received with deep sorrow the news of the death of the journalist, Bedri Sadiku. He worked for several years in the newspaper Rilindja, initially in Pristina, during the 80s, and later during the 90s, in Tirana and Skopje. Sadiku had brought to light the violations of the rights of Albanians, through reports, analyzes and authorial writings, for which he was detained and arrested several times by the police. The Association of Journalists of Kosovo expressed its condolences to family, friends and colleagues. Bedri Sadiku was born in Presevo, and completed his studies at the Faculty of Philology in Skopje and his master studies in Zagreb, Croatia. For many years he worked for the newspaper Rilindja, initially in Pristina, during the 80s, and later during the 90s in Tirana and Skopje. During the war years in Kosovo, he closely followed the refugee crisis in Macedonia, as with his interviews with former US Ambassador Christopher Hill, he played an important role in raising awareness of the Kosovo issue. During the war Sadiku contributed a lot to the KosovaPress News Agency, reporting on events regarding the refugees. The cooperation continued even after liberation. The funeral will take place in the city cemetery in Prishtina Arberia at 15:00. Due to the pandemic, the funeral of the deceased, Bedri Sadiku, will be done in accordance with the rules of the NIPHK.
