Aircraft obstructed over Lipjan, investigations launched

The Basic Prosecution in Prishtina has launched investigations into attacks targeting aircraft that departed from Prishtina Airport on Monday evening.

The police have not provided details on how the aircraft were obstructed, and have not disclosed whether they were targeted with lasers or drones.

The case, reported in the village of Janjevë in Lipjan, was initiated under the criminal offence of “endangering the safety of civil aviation.”

Investigations began on Thursday.

“On 16.07.2026, in consultation with the prosecutor, the aforementioned case was initiated after the police received information that the incident in question had occurred on 13.07.2026,” the police said in their 24-hour report.

“The case is under investigation,” police stated in the report.

This criminal offence can be punishable by up to five years in prison.
