A worker has died tragically on Thursday in Meqë village, Gjakova.
The news was confirmed to KosovaPress by Vlera Krasniqi, spokesperson for the Police in the Gjakova region.
According to Krasniqi, the truck driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to slip. As a result, a worker who was near the vehicle became trapped underneath it.
Emergency units immediately responded to the scene, and after intervention, the responsible doctor confirmed that the person trapped under the vehicle had died.
“Today, around 09:55, we received information about an incident in the village of Meqë. According to initial investigations, it is suspected that during work, the driver of a transport vehicle (truck) lost control, causing the truck to slip. As a result of this movement, a worker (adult male) who was near the vehicle became trapped underneath it. Police units, the fire brigade, and emergency medical services immediately responded to the scene. After intervention, the responsible doctor confirmed that the person trapped under the vehicle had died. All necessary steps are being taken by the Police to clarify the circumstances of this event,” Krasniqi said.
