The Organization of War Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVL-UÇK) has reacted to the decision of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, which has rejected most of the evidence presented by the defense of Jakup Krasniqi—evidence that, according to the organization, documents crimes committed by Serbian forces during the war in Kosovo.
In its statement, the organization said this action is unacceptable and represents yet another example of the court’s biased approach.
Statement
The Organization of War Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army strongly condemns the decision of the Specialist Chambers in The Hague, which has rejected most of the evidence presented by Mr. Jakup Krasniqi’s defense—evidence documenting crimes committed by Serbian forces during the war in Kosovo.
This action is unacceptable and serves as further proof of the court’s one-sided approach, which seeks to portray Kosovo’s liberation war outside its historical context, denying the crimes that brought destruction and genocide to our country.
To deem evidence of Serbian massacres and crimes as “irrelevant” is to deny the truth and the suffering of a people who fought for freedom.
This is an insult to justice and to Kosovo’s historical memory.
This unjust decision is yet another reason to protest and raise our voices against the injustice being done to Kosovo’s freedom fighters.
