Prishtina honors its liberation, march of former Kosovo Liberation Army members held

As part of the activities marking the Liberation Day of Prishtina, a KLA march was held today in the capital.

The march started from “Zahir Pajaziti” Square and ended at “Skanderbeg” Square, where former members of the Kosovo Liberation Army paraded wearing wartime uniforms.

Before the start of the march, tributes were paid at the statue of hero Zahir Pajaziti.

Veterans of the KLA war took part in the tribute ceremony, as well as the Mayor of Prishtina, Përparim Rama.

Rama said the march was organized to remember the sacrifice of the fighters and martyrs who contributed to the country’s freedom.

“We held a march as a sign of remembrance of the great sacrifice, the values of the Kosovo Liberation Army and of every martyr, every family that sacrificed everything so that today we can have freedom and democracy, so that today we can come together and plan for the future of our country,” Rama said.

The activities marking the Liberation Day of Prishtina began in the morning with tributes and a solemn session, while they are expected to continue during the evening with other events in the capital.
