The Government of Kosovo has approved the initiative for concluding a grant agreement between the Republic of Kosovo, represented by the Ministry of Finance, KOSTT, and KfW, for the Energy Sector Development (Phase VII), aimed at improving the transmission network.
The value of this grant is 5 million euros.
Minister of Finance Hekuran Murati said the grant will be used for the modernization and expansion of Kosovo’s electricity transmission infrastructure.
“In the framework of financial cooperation with bilateral donors and international financial institutions, we plan to negotiate the grant agreement for the Energy Sector Development project, phase seven, improvement of the transmission network. The value of the grant is five million euros and it will be fully channelled to the project implementing agency, which in this case is KOSTT. This grant will increase the funds available for the transmission network improvement project with KOSTT. The grant will be used exclusively for the modernization and expansion of electricity transmission infrastructure,” he said.
