The defense of former parliament speaker, Kadri Veseli, again today requested that their client be declared innocent.
Lawyer Dixon said that there is no evidence in the arguments of the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
“There is no evidence in the arguments of the SPO, and this court should unite around the truth regarding Veseli’s innocence,” he said.
Veseli’s lawyer reiterated that the Prosecutor’s claims against his client are based on rumors and falsehoods.
“The claims are essentially based on rumors, are unverified, unfounded, and what remains are simply fragments of gossip. Throughout this universe of evidence, there are only arguments about Veseli’s activities. The SPO has not provided any guidance; it is left to you, the judges, to be able to draft one. In our view, this is laziness and shows disregard for the foundation of this court, which was not created to convict for the sake of conviction, and it does not do so, because it shows a model of publicity,” he said.
