The leader of the Guxo party, which is in a pre-election coalition with Vetëvendosje, Donika Gërvalla, said that talks with other parties on a possible coalition will take place after the certification of the results of the June 7 elections, as reported by KosovaPress.
Deputy Prime Minister Gërvalla expressed optimism that the country will not again face blockades in the formation of new institutions.
She said that the message of the citizens must be respected.
“We do not yet have the final results. Once we have the certified results, we will see what opportunities are available to us. I hope that we will not face again the senseless blockades and the blocking of state institutions, but as you have seen even before the last elections, it was not in our hands, because the offers were more than generous, but they were rejected. I hope that this time the strong mandate of the citizens will be respected,” Gërvalla said.
Furthermore, Gërvalla said that neither red lines nor coalitions have been discussed yet.
“We do not discuss red lines or coalitions, which we will look at after we receive the certified final results, in order to understand what message the citizens have given. We have again won the elections convincingly, again we have more votes than all other Albanian parties, therefore I see no reason otherwise. Voter turnout was lower, this is a message that we all involved in politics must analyse and understand correctly,” she said.
According to preliminary results from the CEC, Vetëvendosje Movement won 45.25% or 339,348 votes (51 seats).
PDK came second with 21% or 151,595 votes (23 seats).
LDK came third with 17.19% or 128,891 votes (19 seats), and AAK fourth with 6.94% or 52,086 votes (7 seats).
