Vita dairy company has once again requested the publication of milk sample test results, accusing Kosovo’s Ministry of Agriculture and the Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) of delays, while the Ministry has denied that it promised to publish the results on July 13 and said the final report will be released no later than July 27.
In a statement to the media, Vita recalled that on July 6 it announced the resumption of milk collection from farmers, after, according to the company, a meeting with Minister Faton Peci Muja and FVA representatives resulted in a promise that the test results would be published by July 13.
The company said that, although more than two weeks have passed since the samples were taken on July 2, the results have still not been delivered to them or made public.
“We know the results because we know what we process and how we do our work. The results cannot be anything other than 100% milk,” Vita said, calling for the urgent publication of the analyses and emphasizing that farmers “do not deserve silence” and citizens “do not deserve uncertainty.”
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development rejected the company’s claims, clarifying that it had made no public or official commitment that the results would be published on July 13.
According to the Ministry, laboratory analyses are only one part of the official control procedure, and administrative, technical, and legal verifications must be completed before conclusions are published.
“Publishing partial results or separate analyses before the official procedure is completed would be contrary to the principles of official control and could lead to misinterpretation of the findings,” the Ministry said in its response.
The Ministry said it had requested the FVA Chief Executive Officer to speed up the procedure and that the final report will be submitted no later than July 27, 2026. If the analyses and verifications are completed earlier, the report will be published before that deadline.
The Ministry added that it would not comment on claims made by economic operators until the official procedure is completed, stressing that only the final report prepared by the competent authority serves as the legal basis for assessing whether products comply with the applicable legislation.
The dispute between Vita and the institutions comes after an inspection and the collection of samples at the dairy company several days ago.
