Searches at the Kosovo Business Registration Agency: Prosecutor’s Office cites suspicions of abuse of duty and document forgery

The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prishtina has issued a statement regarding today’s operation at the Kosovo Business Registration Agency (ARBK).

The operation, carried out by the Kosovo Police, began early this morning.

In a press release, the Prosecutor’s Office stated that the operation is being conducted in close cooperation with the Kosovo Police and other supporting units, based on an order from the Basic Court in Prishtina.

According to the announcement, during the operation searches were carried out at ARBK, an institution operating under the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Trade, due to suspicions of committing the criminal offenses of “Abuse of official position or authority” under Article 414 of the Penal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as “Special cases of document forgery” under Article 391 of the Penal Code.

“The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prishtina informs the public that, in full cooperation and coordination with the Kosovo Police and other supporting units, and based on an order issued by the Basic Court in Prishtina, an operation was carried out early this morning. During this operation, searches were conducted at the Kosovo Business Registration Agency (ARBK), an institution operating under the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Trade, due to suspicions of committing the criminal offenses of ‘Abuse of official position or authority’ under Article 414 of the Penal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as the offense of ‘Special cases of document forgery’ under Article 391 of the Penal Code,” the statement reads.

The Prosecutor’s Office noted that the operation is still ongoing and that all necessary legal actions are being taken to fully clarify the case.

“The operation is still in progress, and the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prishtina is taking all necessary legal measures to fully investigate the case. You will be continuously updated on further developments,” the statement concluded.
