The Secretary General of the Kosovo Olympic Committee, Besim Aliti, has spoken about preparations and expectations for the opening ceremony of the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games, stressing the importance of presenting the event in a dignified way on the international stage.
Commenting on the possibility of including major Albanian music stars in the ceremony, Aliti said that although no concrete contacts have yet been made, he strongly believes that figures such as Dua Lipa and Rita Ora would be willing to take part in this historic moment.
“We have not yet made direct contact to discuss this issue, but I do not see it as a problem, because it is possible. I am convinced that both Dua Lipa and Rita Ora, and the entire Albanian diaspora, have a strong connection to their homeland and express it—especially Rita Ora and Dua Lipa, who in every global appearance have proudly shown that they are Albanian and from Kosovo. I am convinced that given the importance of the Mediterranean Games, they would proudly accept to be part of this process,” Aliti said on SportCast.
He added that the opening ceremony represents an extraordinary opportunity to promote Kosovo internationally, leaving open the possibility that the involvement of world-renowned Albanian-origin artists could become one of the key elements of the event.
