Kosovo becomes the center of Pop Music – After Dua Lipa, Shawn Mendes performs tonight

For the first time ever, global pop music star Shawn Mendes, winner of the “MTV Europe Music Awards,” will perform in Kosovo tonight. He has filled some of the world’s biggest arenas, such as the “O2” in London and “Madison Square Garden” in New York.

He will be performing at the biggest festival in Kosovo, Sunny Hill Festival.

Also taking the stage tonight at C4 is Brazilian DJ Mochakk, known for his funky and expressive style that’s taking over the world’s biggest clubs and festivals.

The Sunny Hill Festival started last night in the village of Bërnica, near Prishtina, where for three consecutive nights big names from the global and Albanian music scenes will perform.

This year’s edition was opened by internationally famous star Dua Lipa, who said she was happy to have had the opportunity to create a festival in Kosovo with her family.

“This is now our sixth year, and it seems like it just keeps getting better and better,” said Dua Lipa.

After thanking her family, she said that “Kosovo is beautiful, let’s show it to the whole world,” as she immediately energized the crowd with her performance.

Joining Dua Lipa on the Sunny Hill stage was her father, Dukagjin Lipa.

Together, they performed the song “Era” by Gjurmët.

Otherwise, the festival continues on Sunday.The lineup also includes major international artists such as: Artssassin, Bookie, Deezy, Sainté, Sienna Spiro, Skream, Sugar Rush, Tommy Gold, TSHA, Mygal B2B Edgar Kerri – bringing a unique mix of styles like hip-hop, alt-pop, dubstep, and house.

“Joining the global music scene are also the most prominent Albanian stars such as: Loredana, Lyrical Son, MC Kresha, Era Istrefi, Tayna, Kida, Ledri Vula, Adrian Berisha, DJ Caboo, Art Lokaj Band, Bana Zahiti, Blerta Përtace, Hawolf, Lluni, Sahati, Uran B., Yanina, and Zwada — making ‘Sunny Hill Festival 2025’ a true celebration of modern Albanian and international music.”
