PDK places a black sack “filled with Albin Kurti’s lies” in front of the Government

A black sack, representing what they called “Albin Kurti’s lies,” was placed by the youth wing of the Democratic Party of Kosovo in front of the Government building.

The opposition party continued its criticism of Prime Minister Albin Kurti, accusing him of legalizing Serbian documents following a compromise related to the implementation of the Law on Foreigners and the Law on Vehicles.

Before emptying the sack filled with news and statements made by Prime Minister Albin Kurti over the years, boasting that there are no longer parallel Serbian structures in Kosovo, the head of the party’s youth wing and MP, Arbnora Salihu, said the black sack reflects Kurti’s manipulative approach under the guise of patriotism, while his actions are against the state’s interest.

“We filled this sack with some of Albin Kurti’s lies, as he claimed to have uprooted parallel structures in the northern part of the country. This sack exposes his manipulative approach—big words in the name of patriotism, actions that harm the state’s interest. For years, Albin Kurti has built a false narrative. This action is a clear message that the truth cannot be covered up with propaganda, and failure cannot be hidden behind empty and meaningless words,” she said.

According to her, Kurti’s decision to legalize the use of Serbian documents by people who do not possess Kosovar documents is a surrender to criminal gangs and a legalization of structures that have undermined the Kosovo state for decades.

“In April 2022, Kurti promised there would be ‘zero tolerance’ for illegal structures. In June 2023, he declared that ‘Kosovo will not allow parallel structures in the north’ and even threatened that they would either go ‘to Serbia or to prison.’ In January 2025, his ministers boasted that ‘the era of parallel municipalities has ended.’ Meanwhile, in January of this year in Davos, Albin Kurti stated that ‘there are no longer parallel Serbian structures in Kosovo.’ But just two days ago, on March 14, 2026, he did the opposite—he allowed the use of IDs issued by Serbia. This decision is a surrender to criminal gangs and a legalization of structures that have undermined the state for decades,” added Salihu.

Moreover, she said, this decision by Prime Minister Kurti is a betrayal of the state and its citizens. The PDK MP also mentioned the failure to reach a consensus on the election of the president, adding that Kurti, as she said, reached common ground with parallel structures and Serbia.

“This decision by Albin Kurti is a betrayal of the state and citizens. It is paradoxical and worrying that a prime minister who failed to reach political consensus for the election of the president now finds common ground with parallel structures and Serbia. Therefore, we call on the Government of Kosovo to halt double policies and stop deceiving our citizens,” added MP Salihu.

On March 14, Kosovo and the EU reached an agreement on the Law on Foreigners with some easing measures for Serbs. Kosovo agreed to issue 12-month residence permits to Serbian students who do not have Kosovar documents and to accept identification documents issued by illegal structures, even for three months.
