UEFA has confirmed receipt of a letter from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) regarding irregularities in the Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) ahead of the Electoral Assembly scheduled for February 5. In its letter, the MCYS raised concerns about democratic standards in the candidacy process for FFK president, noting that the requirement of 15 supporting signatures could limit competition.
According to UEFA’s response, all official communication must be conducted through the FFK, and the joint FIFA and UEFA letter confirming the harmonization of the FFK statute has also been sent to the MCYS for reference. UEFA emphasized that further discussions can take place only after the February 5 assembly is held.
This information was also confirmed by KosovaPress sources within the MCYS, who said the ministry has received the letter from UEFA and that discussions with the federation will occur after the assembly. The sources added that the assembly itself may proceed in a legitimate manner and that there are no obstacles to its continuation.
