Krasniqi: I will make continuous efforts to increase transparency in the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council

Candidate for Chairperson of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), Milot Krasniqi, stated that his goal is to advance the prosecutorial system through a balanced and transparent approach.

Krasniqi made this declaration while presenting his aims and objectives if he is elected to lead the KPC.

“My goal is to contribute to the further advancement of this institution through a balanced and transparent approach, focused on strengthening the institutional capacities of the prosecutorial system… My vision is the gradual but secure development of a KPC that functions as an independent and professional institution in decision-making, committed to its continuous development, transparent and accountable to the public, compliant with the Constitution and the law, and efficient in managing developmental policies,” Krasniqi emphasized.

He said that during his mandate, if elected Chairperson of the KPC, he will ensure that the Council’s decision-making is based solely on the Constitution and the law.

He also pledged to increase cooperation with all other justice institutions, and not just within the Council.

“The prosecutorial system should be guided by several fundamental principles, including, but not limited to, institutional independence. According to this principle, the Council’s decision-making must rely solely on the Constitution and the law, safeguarding the independence of the prosecutorial system from any influence. Under my leadership, integrity and professionalism will promote the highest professional and ethical standards in the system, as a prerequisite for strengthening public trust in justice, which the country needs more than ever. I will make continuous efforts to increase the KPC’s transparency and ensure more open and direct communication with the public,” he said.

The candidate for KPC Chairperson, Milot Krasniqi, also stated that he will work to continuously build professional capacities through training and exchange of experience.

Krasniqi said that his top priority is to strengthen the role of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.

“The main priorities of my mandate will be strengthening the role of the KPC. One of my key commitments will be reinforcing the Council’s role in the strategic direction and oversight of the KPC, improving prosecutorial efficiency. This goal will be achieved through planning and implementing concrete measures based on regular performance analyses of the prosecutorial offices,” he said.
