Vuniqi as Deputy Chair of the KPC: My mission is to strengthen institutional accountability and increase efficiency

With a total of six votes in favor, Dardan Vuniqi has been elected Deputy Chair of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.

His mandate in this position, which was decided through an open vote, begins on March 13, 2026, and will last until the end of his mandate as a member of the KPC.

He stated that he will work to ensure that recruitment processes within the KPC are conducted based on meritocracy.

“This candidacy is based on my mission to strengthen institutional accountability, increase efficiency, and enhance public trust in the prosecutorial system. My commitment will be to ensure that the competencies and responsibilities of the Council are exercised in full compliance with the law, with the principles of the rule of law, institutional independence, and accountability. An important priority will also be improving the management and supervision of prosecutors’ offices so that professionalism and efficiency in the prosecutorial system increase,” Vuniqi stated.

At the extraordinary meeting of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, with four votes in favor, Arian Gashi was elected Chair of the Council.
