Kosovo’s Labor Inspectorate urges increased caution during the heatwave

Kosovo’s Labor Inspectorate has called on employers and employees to exercise increased caution regarding workplace safety and health during periods of high temperatures, with particular emphasis on workers engaged on construction sites and in outdoor environments, as reported by KosovaPress.

In a Facebook post, the Inspectorate stressed that high temperatures pose a serious risk to workers’ health and called for compliance with safety measures and proper working conditions. Recommended measures include regular breaks, adequate access to drinking water, protection from direct sun exposure, and organizing work in a way that minimizes heat-related risks.

The Inspectorate urged employers to take all necessary preventive measures, while workers were encouraged to exercise maximum caution and report any situation that may endanger their safety and health in the workplace.

It was also announced that the Central Labor Inspectorate will continue inspections and monitoring of the implementation of applicable legislation. According to the statement, legal action will be taken against entities that fail to comply with workplace safety and health measures.

“Safety and health at work are a shared responsibility and must remain a priority at all times,” the Labor Inspectorate said in its appeal.
