The Assembly of Kosovo has failed to elect the country’s president. Following the expiration of the constitutional deadline, Kosovo will head to new elections, to be held no later than June 7.
Opposition parties did not take part in the extraordinary session on the presidency, while electing a president required the votes of two-thirds of lawmakers in the ballot boxes during the first two rounds.
During the continuation of the session before midnight, the voting process for the two presidential candidates, Feride Rushiti and Hatixhe Hoxha, did not take place at all.
Meanwhile, shortly before the constitutional deadline expired, Prime Minister Albin Kurti delivered a speech. /KosovaPress/
