Hoti: Kurti Government is trapped in the dialogue with Serbia

The member of parliament from the Democratic League of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, has criticized the appointment of Kosovo’s ambassador to Belgium, Agron Bajrami, as chief negotiator in the dialogue with Serbia.

According to him, this arrangement will prevent him from reporting to the Assembly, making transparency in the process “zero.”

During the parliamentary session, Hoti said that the “trap that has happened to the Kurti Government” with the Brussels Agreement and the Ohrid Annex has led to hesitation in reporting on the dialogue process.

He called for the adoption of a new resolution in the Assembly, emphasizing the need for regular reporting to parliament on the dialogue with Serbia.

“During these months and years of managing this process, what we have seen is a step backward. There was an agreement that this process would be oriented toward a final agreement on mutual recognition. It has now been pushed back into a technical dialogue… The trap that has happened to this government with the Brussels Agreement and the Ohrid Annex has made it hesitate to report to the Assembly on this process. What we have recently seen, the appointment of the chief negotiator, the ambassador in Brussels, as chief negotiator who will not have the possibility to report before this Assembly. I believe it is essential that this Assembly now adopt a new resolution that addresses the issue of transparency in the dialogue process and reconfirms that this process must be conducted toward an international agreement,” he said.

Hoti also criticized the executive, as he said, for misuse of the budget.
