Energy Minister Artane Rizvanolli said that the issue of electricity meters is not within the competence of the ministry she leads.
She said she does not have the habit of giving statements on the street.
“Are you aware of the competencies of the Ministry of Economy and other ministries? This is an issue that has been discussed for several weeks now. You should also bear in mind that I do not have the habit of giving statements like this on the street, if you understand me. If you need clarifications regarding matters within the scope of the Ministry of Economy, you can arrange an interview, or you can send questions, or we can also organize a press conference. But the issue you raised does not fall within the scope of our ministry; therefore, you should address the relevant ministry, the regulator, and the operators,” Rizvanolli said.
According to the Democratic League of Kosovo, out of 884 verified electricity meters, 87% allegedly charge citizens more expensively even when the lowest tariff is applied.
