Case in Zhegër: Police in the Gjilan Region provide details

The spokesperson for the police in the Gjilan region, Ismet Hashani, stated that the electoral process in the seven municipalities of this region is proceeding without incidents.

Hashani addressed a reported case at a polling station in Zhegër, saying that there is no police case, as reported by KosovaPress.

“A case was reported in Zhegër, but there is no police case here. A person reportedly wanted to assist a family member and had a verbal argument with the polling staff, but there is no police case. Investigators and prosecutors went to the scene, and everything is fine… it has no impact on the elections, and everything is in order,” he stated.

Hashani said that the electoral process is going smoothly and urged citizens to vote without causing any incidents.

“From the early morning hours, all polling stations in the seven municipalities of the Gjilan region have been opened, and at all these stations, police assistance is provided to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the elections. The number of police officers is sufficient to cover all these stations… The elections are proceeding in a very orderly and very good process,” he said.

In Gjilan, over 104,000 citizens within Kosovo are eligible to vote. Additionally, over 5,500 citizens are registered to vote outside Kosovo. Gjilan has 37 polling centers with 130 regular voting stations.
